CAMS

  • There are tracking shots in the video when it shows Shawn and the girl running during the faster paced part of the song.
  • There is an over the shoulder shot in the video.
  • A lot of the shots in the video are two-shots to show both Shawn and the girl.

Editing

  • The video starts with a wide shot of a beach, and then cuts to a black screen with Shawn's name on the screen in white text.
  • The editors use cross-cutting to switch between scenes of Shawn singing at a concert and him with the girl various other settings.
  • The editors cut from a closeup of Shawn and the girl holding hands to a medium long shot of them going down an escalator.

Sound

  • At the beginning of the video there is the ambient sound of a train going by in the background.

  • When the video shows the whole band for the first time, there was a cutaway between each band member and the whole band.
  • About halfway through the video, the editors use cross-cutting to switch between scenes of the band and scenes of people swimming.

Sound

  • About 4/5 of the way through the video, the song pauses, and you can hear underwater noises which are ambient sounds.
  • The majority of the video is the band singing their song which would be diegetic sound.
  • Even though the editors use ambient water sounds in this one scene they don't use it anywhere else in the video.

  • There is one set throughout the video which is a house that breaks, gets flooded and then gets set on fire in that order.

  • The editors cut between scenes of the band singing and scenes of the band members playing on the beach throughout the video.
  • The editors also fade between scenes at the end of the video.

  • The video starts with an ambient sound of waves crashing on a beach.
  • The song is diegetic sound and is the main thing you hear in the video.
  • The video also ends with an ambient sound of waves crashing on a beach.

  • The setting for the video was a beach.
  • The band and the other people in the video were wearing the clothes that they would be wearing if they were hanging out and playing soccer on a beach.
  • The props that were used in the video were a soccer ball, a bonfire pit, and sparklers.
