Filming Blog: Wrapping Up
After we finished the first round of filming, I reviewed all of the footage we had shot so far and the script. Since we had so much improvisation, I needed to modify the original script a little, but it wasn’t too hard. Then I called the actors back in and reviewed the changes I had made.
We needed to film one more scene in the kitchen. This was the scene where I figured out that I was invisible. We started with my dad coming down the stairs and into the kitchen. I told them I was there, but no one could see me. My dad improvised some more and looked for my in the dishwasher. Then I decided to pinch him and push him across the room. Then I grabbed my mom’s arm and shook it around. And then I went over to my brother and shook his hand. My family members looked at the camera with confused looks each time.
When we were done with that scene, there was only one scene left to film – the scene at the end. For this scene, my brother walked into the front room of our house to do a 3D print. I filmed him walking from the kitchen over and stood behind him. He went to sit down in a chair and I pulled it out from underneath him. Then I filmed a little bit extra so that we would have room for editing. We reviewed the footage to make sure everything was good.
Then I realized that I needed to do a wide shot of my house
from outside because that will be at the start of my movie. I decided to shoot
30-seconds with a slow zoom in. This would allow me plenty of footage for editing.
Now I’m ready to edit!
