I asked my friend Conner to review by movie. I wasn't really sure what he would think, but I was excited to get his reaction. He is in my class, so we could watch it together. The first time we watched it, he laughed when my parents found out I was invisible. He thought it was funny that my dad was looking for me in the dishwasher. He also laughed when I stole my dad's breakfast. When we got to the part where I put chocolate sauce on my brother's bagel, he asked why my hand was in the shot. I explained that I had thought about that before we shot the footage. I decided that since the movie was shot from my perspective and I didn't know that I was invisible, I would have been able to see my hand. As a result, I thought it was okay to include that shot. He agreed that that made sense. We continued watching and he laughed when I pulled the chair out from under my brother. At the end he said that he really liked it. We watched it together one more time. This time we talked...

How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? I chose to do my music video for the song Counting Stars by OneRepublic. I stuck to the conventions of the folk pop and pop rock genres with my video. In the video for “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction, the setting is the beach, and you see the band members hanging out on the beach and singing. Likewise, in the video for “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” by Shawn Mendes, one of the settings was him running outside through Paris. I also chose to use an outdoor setting for most of my video, but I chose to do mine in a park with lots of nature. I chose this park because it has a lot of vines in it, and I wanted that to go with the line of the song that said, “I see this life like a swinging vine”. In the videos that I researched, they moved between a few dif...
Counting Stars genre: folk pop, pop rock Other songs in these genres: There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back by Shawn Mendes CAMS There are tracking shots in the video when it shows Shawn and the girl running during the faster paced part of the song. There is an over the shoulder shot in the video. A lot of the shots in the video are two-shots to show both Shawn and the girl. Editing The video starts with a wide shot of a beach, and then cuts to a black screen with Shawn's name on the screen in white text. The editors use cross-cutting to switch between scenes of Shawn singing at a concert and him with the girl various other settings. The editors cut from a closeup of Shawn and the girl holding hands to a medium long shot of them going down an escalator. Sound At the beginning of the video there is the ambient sound of a train going by in the background. The song is a diegetic sound an...
